Winter Apple Berry Porridge

I love a good bowl of porridge. Not stodgy wallpaper paste stuff ... but a good, creamy porridge made with hazelnut or almond milk, lots of warm fruit + seeds and spices.

You don't have to make your version exactly like this one. Be creative. But here is some inspiration if the weather is chilly and you need a warm, comforting breakfast.

1 cup of porridge

1 cup of nut milk

1 cup of water

1 bramley apple (cooking apple)

Handful of frozen berries

Pumpkin, sunflower & chia seeds

Coconut flakes

Cinnamon and ground cloves (just a pinch or two)

Pinch of salt

1 tsp coconut sugar (if you like it sweet)

Pour the milk and water in a pan and add the porridge oats

Stir whilst warming on a gentle heat

In a second pan add the chopped apple and a couple of tablespoons of water (just to stop it burning to the pan) Add a pinch of cinnamon and cloves and heat gently

Once the porridge is ready serve in a bowl, add the apple

Whilst you're decorating with seeds pop the berries in the apple pan and warm them. Add them to the bowl

Sprinkle with coconut sugar for extra sweetness and cinnamon and cloves for warming spices
