Barbecue Sauce Beans on Toast

For us Brits beans on toast doesn't usually require a recipe! What could be easier than popping to the shops, picking up a tin of heinz beans + a loaf and creating a magic breakfast right?! 

Firstly, if you're following my skin healing plan for psoriasis or other autoimmune conditions, I highly recommend avoiding tomatoes. Tomatoes are a nightshade and here's why they might be posing a problem for your skin. 

So ... baked beans without tomato? How is this wizardry possible? My BBQ sauce starts with the tomatoless sauce recipe in my book Radiant. This is the starting point for so many of the 'tomato' based recipes I make. This BBQ sauce also works really well with my vegan pulled pork jackfruit recipe

INGREDIENTS (for two)

1 tin butter beans

100ml tomatoless sauce

1 tbsp tamari

1 tbsp coconut sugar

1 tsp tamarind 

1 tsp garlic puree 

2 tsp balsamic vinegar 

1/2 tsp ground coriander 

Pinch or two of black pepper 

HERE'S HOW

Warm the tomatoless sauce gently in a pan. Add the tamari, sugar, tamarind, garlic, vinegar, coriander and pepper and stir well. 

Add the butter beans and continue to warm for 5 - 10 mins

Serve hot on gluten free bread
